ABOUT
Who I Am
Who I Am

I live in Venice Beach, California and my textile and fashion designs are constantly influenced by the eclectic nature of this eccentric beach city in Los Angeles... which mirrors my eccentric southern background and upbringing.

It all makes sense because when asked to describe my illustrations:

"It's like the pathos of German expressionism collides with the elegance of fashion illustration and is tickled where it shouldn't be by the Monster High Bratz..."

Oh yeah...i adore needles and thread, chiffon, textile design, miles of tulle, anything to draw with, all that sparkles, and my pit bull "Memphis".

What I Do

My love of fashion began at 5 years old when I was FINALLY the proud owner of those white vinyl go go boots I'd been eyeing! Sitting in Kindergarten with my feet up on the art table so everyone could see them. Yes, that kind of behavior did have a certain fate... but armed with those boots, there was no stopping me. Fast forward to now (and I still own a pair of white vinyl go go boots)...

I am currently teaching apparel design, merchandising and technology courses including fashion illustration, computer illustration, technical design/drawing, computer pattern making, concept/product development, digital textile design, apparel manufacturing/marketing, and portfolio courses for the Art Institute of California and have taught Costume History at FIDM.

Having worked as the Director of Emerging Designers/liaison between emerging designers for the fianle night of OC Fashion Week as well as social media with an Instagram and Twitter takeover for the event, it's easy to say that I'm within my element and enjoy a fast paced production environment. I have also been the liaison between student designers for LA and New York Fashion Weeks and am experinced working with branding and corporate approval.

I extensively use Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Excel personally as well as in my courses. I am a CAD artist/designer using these programs as well as Gerber and Lectra: Kaledo for concept development, marketing collateral, illustration, graphics, tech packs for manufacturing, and textile design. I sit on the advisory board of Christopher Grayson, a NYC company at the forefront of combining luxury and technology. I also am a contributing author/illustrator to Fashionclassroom.com in New York who provides industry leading Adobe for apparel training. I have worked with fashion/costume in the film industry as well as designing for apparel companies here in Los Angeles.
